Wines featured in HBO's 'Succession'
In my lexicon Kendall means Roy, not Jenner. So let me present you five wines appreciated by the Roy family members.
The 'Succession’ tv-series has recently become one of the most iconic HBO shows. What makes it so special is the attention to the little details.
Camera movement, locations, the lexicon of the characters, costumes, music, accessories, clothing brands, and even wine labels.
Together all these details make a unique tv-series about the actual old-money world run by such tycoons as the Roy family.
Today’s article will define the five wines celebrated by the Roys on various occasions throughout the four seasons.

Balzini White Label
S3E8: “Chiantishire”
In one of the most remarkable scenes of the series, shot on the Italian Riviera, Kendall invites his father, Logan, for a 1:1 dinner. The wine served for that special occasion is an Italian Balzini White Lable.
Balzini D'Isanto is a small wine estate in the heart of Tuscany producing wine that is classified as Super Tuscan wine. The vineyard is known for its Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Sangiovese grapes.
Dominio de Pingus
S3E1: “Secession”
Producers of the show regularly get a laugh out of the old-money features. For example, in one of the episodes, cousin Greg opens a magnum of Dominio de Pingus 1996 just for a “casual occasion.”
Despite being a family member, Greg is not a member of high society. That’s why he unconsciously made such a “horrible” mistake by opening a $5,000 bottle of wine at an “inappropriate” moment.
Dominio de Pingus is a Spanish winery in the Ribera del Duero region. The estate's flagship wine, Pingus, is considered a “cult wine” sold at extremely high prices.
After a cargo accident, Dominio de Pingus’ first vintage (1995) was almost entirely lost in the North Atlantic. The winery’s second vintage (1996) went on to gain legendary status.
While tasting Dominio de Pingus’ vintage of 1995, Robert Parker said: “One of the greatest and most exciting wines I have ever tasted.”
Château Haut-Brion
S4E2: “Rehearsal”
Logan Roy’s eldest son, Connor, is not just a gentleman and potentially the future president of the U.S. but also a true connoisseur. After his fiancé breaks his heart, he fills the pain with a Château Haut-Brion.
Château Haut-Brion is not just a wine. It is an absolute icon. In 1885 Château Haut-Brion was classified as one of five of Bordeaux’s Premier Cru wines.

Perrier Jouet Champagne
S4E7: “Tailgate Party”
While preparing for the exclusive invite-only party organized by Roys, we can see that waiters poor the Perrier Jouet Grand Brut for the VIP guests.
S3E7: “Too Much Birthday”
The first appearance of Perrier Jouet was in S3E7 when the Roys celebrated the settlement between Waystar Royco and the U.S. Department of Justice, drinking Perrier Jouet Belle Epoque.
Piper-Heidsieck Champagne
S4E7: “Tailgate Party”
At the “Tailgate Party,” the guests were served not only the Perrier Jouet Grand Brut champagne but also a Piper-Heidsieck Cuvee Brut.
Piper-Heidsieck is one of the oldest French champagne houses, founded in 1785. Nowadays Piper-Heidsieck remains one of the most appreciated champagnes.
